South Bend » A Roman Catholic bishop says he will boycott President Barack Obama's May 17 commencement speech at the University of Notre Dame because Obama's policies supporting abortion rights and stem cell research conflict with Catholic teaching.Bishop John D'Arcy of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend said Tuesday that Obama's recent decision to federally fund embryonic stem cell research brought the U.S. government for the first time "into supporting direct destruction of innocent human life."
His use of the usual, boring and faulty equating of embryos to "human life" proves his absence probably won't be that big of a loss.
Actually, I wonder if anyone'll notice ... or care?
