This is an animal abuse story that ends on a ... well, not a good note. But at least there's some slight silver lining.
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A Michigan man who police say killed his girlfriend's 3-month-old puppy is charged with torturing an animal.Police in Macomb County's Clinton Township, 15 miles northeast of Detroit, say the Yorkshire terrier puppy nipped at Omar Lathon-Bey's heels while he scuffled Monday night with his 26-year-old girlfriend. They say Lathon-Bey picked it up and twisted its neck.
The puppy was later euthanized early Tuesday at a vet clinic.
Anyway ... The silver lining I mentioned? The bastard was stabbed by said girlfriend. The prosecutors didn't even bother pressing charges on her. I wonder if they would've charged her if she'd killed him, though, considering that's alot closer to what I would've done myself if some asshole just broke my dog's neck like that for no reason.
Anyway, now this Omar Lathon-Bey was released on $10,000 bond until his April 20 preliminary hearing. Any overly outraged militant animal-lovers and people-haters in the area care to drop in and visit him? Pass by the nearby construction site to gather enough half-bricks.
