You knew they would ask ...

It seems people really are incapable of understanding that if individuals and citizens of a nation can believe in whatever religion they want, that does not make the country itself religious in any way. America is not a Christian nation – it is a nation, period, with Christians and Muslims and Jews and Hindus and Atheists and etc. America is no more unified under any one religion than any other.

And so, WYMT now has a little poll you ought to set straight:

President Obama said, ‘We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation, or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of a values. How do you feel about those comments?

• Offended – America is still a Christian nation (13.5%)
• Agree – No one religion is more important (5.4%)
• Agree – Our country is not based on religious beliefs (80.4%)
• Don’t care (0.6%)
Total responses: 4735

So, how 'bout it?
