Jenny McCarthy, that's who. The third-rate actress and first-rate ignorant quack now has the chance to brainwash and delude an even bigger audience than before with her anti-vaccination bullshit and "healing Autism" lunacy. The latest of chat queen and woo-promoter Oprah Winfrey's "protégés" – which've included Rachel Ray and, of course, Dr. Phil – has now signed on for her own TV show, making sure she can rack up even more bodies for her ever-increasing count of people she's successfully illusioned into thinking vaccines cause Autism and thereby dying from easily preventable diseases.
McCarthy has inked a multi-year deal with Winfrey's Harpo Prods. to develop projects on different platforms, including a syndicated talk show that the actress/author would host.
Yet another jabbering, stupid airhead is promoted to TV celebrity status simply for appealing to the ignorant, fable-believing masses and telling them what they want to hear rather than plain scientific truth: there is no cure for neurological disorders like Autism. Telling people there is, and particularly telling them that harmless and lifesaving vaccinations such as the MMR vaccines cause it, leads to only one result: deaths. And lots of them. (Check the little "Antivaccine Body Count" widget in my right-hand sidebar for real-time educated estimates of just how many are affected, and killed, by the quackery spread by McCarthy and similar idiots.
And to think that all of this is thanks to that wretched Dr. Wakefield, who falsified dozens of studies years ago ... One man truly can fuck up the world.
Although, should I substitute "man" for "unscrupulous monster"?
I wonder how long it takes for Orac to catch wind of this ... if he hasn't already. Less than 12 hours, definitely.
Oh yeah – she also has a blog now. Nothing on anti-vaccination lunacy or Autism quackery ... yet.
