There are many who oppose hate crime laws, and I can certainly understand some of their viewpoints, but when you hear what the loony right has to say about it in terms of their arguments for why they're a bad thing to implement, it really makes you wanna stab your eyes out with a dull fork just so you don't have to read such mind-numbing, conscious-melting stupidity ever again. Seriously, just take a look. It's utterly insane. (But then, what else could you possibly expect from something published on WingNutDaily?)
The proposal, also called the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act after a Wyoming homosexual who was killed in a horrific robbery and beating in 1998, creates a special class for homosexuals and others with alternative sexual lifestyles and provides them protections against so-called "hate."It specifically denies such protections to other targeted classes of citizens such as pastors, Christians, missionaries, veterans and the elderly.
This isn't just stupidity, it's also packed with plain and blatant lies. In no way does the hate crime bill – of which you can read the full text here – separate "homosexuals and alternative sexual lifestyles" into their own classes and afford them special protections. That's not what the bill is even about. Here's a relevant part of the bill below:
(1) IN GENERAL- At the request of a State, local, or tribal law enforcement agency, the Attorney General may provide technical, forensic, prosecutorial, or any other form of assistance in the criminal investigation or prosecution of any crime that--
- (A) constitutes a crime of violence;
(B) constitutes a felony under the State, local, or tribal laws; and
(C) is motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim, or is a violation of the State, local, or tribal hate crime laws.
There you go. Where exactly is it mentioned that gays and other sexual lifestyles would be given special protections that other groups don't have?
Probably the worst of their arguments against the bill is that they refer to it – honestly – as the "Pedophile Protection Act". I shit you not. For the love of God, look at this deadly orgy of stupid below.
If a mother hears that their child has been raped and she slaps the assailant with her purse, she is now gone after as a hate criminal because this is a protected class. There are other protected classes in here. I mean simple exhibitionism. I have female friends who have told me over the years that some guy flashed them, and their immediate reaction was to hit them with their purse. Well now, he's committed a misdemeanor, she has committed a federal hate crime because the exhibitionism is protected under sexual orientation.
I can't decide which is worse: the stupidity in the above paragraph, or its vileness. Seriously, what sort of deranged fucks come up with shit like this?
Pedophiles are not a protected class. (Again, there are no "classes", period. Hate crime laws go after crimes that are aimed at people with obvious malicious intent due to minority status (sexuality, ethnicity, whatever).) A pedophile that is slapped by a woman for raping her child (what, only a slap? No stabbing his groin off?) is still gonna get sentenced to jail for a good long time, and deservedly so of course.
Finally, one last bit of utters lunacy, just for the heck of murdering all my readers' precious braincells. I'm evil that way.
"Pushing away an unwelcome advance of a homosexual, transgendered, cross-dresser or exhibitionist could make you a felon under this law. Speaking out against the homosexual agenda could also make you a felon if you are said to influence someone who pushes away that unwelcome advance. And pedophiles and other sexual deviants would enjoy an elevated level of protection while children, seniors, veterans, and churches would not," Porter said.
*Near-death*
We now have an expression to rival "Only in America" when grandiose stupidity is shown: "Only in WorldNetDaily" ...
