Here's an excellent video that destroys the weak and silly arguments used against gay marriage – or most of them, at least. (Lord knows they're as varied and never-ending as the bigots, religious kooks and plain ol' self-righteous dolts who employ them.)
I particularly like the seventh point they elaborate upon, one that's used more frequently than others in my experience:
"It's a slippery slope to bestiality, pedophilia, and polygamy.""Do you really not see a fundamental difference between an adult and a child? Between a human and a dog? Really!?
No-one in our society has the right to marry a child, or a dog, or a group of people. I'm asking for the right to marry a man, and half of our society already has that right.
I just had to underline that last bit – I couldn't possibly have said it better myself. To all the idiots who keep claiming that gay marriage will just lead to fucking goats or children or a harem of women (and beyond): we are not looking for the rights that no-one else has. We're not looking for special privileges or benefits. All we want, is the right that half of the freakin' country already has!
