Trees were recently cut down in Limerick, Ireland, and one of the tree stumps looked alot like ... well, you figure it out:
Can't tell what it's supposed to be? Me neither. Unless you place yourself in the mind of an apparition-crazed Christian and discover it sort of looks like a fat, twisted Virgin Mary. Go figure.
There's a large buzz around the Sacred Stump, and here's what the Irish church has had to say about it:
A spokesman for the Limerick diocesan office said the “church’s response to phenomena of this type is one of great scepticism”.
